In my quest for responsible consumerism I have discovered the beautiful work of independent artists and how wonderful it can be to show them support. They keep it real and offer a very direct relationship with what you are buying. I always know that it is made with thought and love.
So having discovered the wonder of indie handmade, we have incorporated it with Dignity Regained. I believe that Fair Trade customers and indie shop customers share a very common ground. They quiver at the thought of mass production, and realize the many negative effects of big box stores. They like to know who and what they are supporting. We realize that there are some instances they cannot avoid, but we are glad that they search to see if there is an alternative first. Often indie artists provide this alternative.
For more information about the handmade movement HERE is a great link with more resources.
If you are an indie artist and would like to be a part of Dignity Regained Indie Edition, feel free to use the "contact us" page. Before doing that though, please take some time to read about us to see what we are all about. Read up on trafficking and see what the sale of your products will be doing. After reading up a bit, (I'm talking like 10-15 mins, don't feel like you have to go buy a book,) give us a buzz, send us your wholesale price list and we'll see if it's a good fit. But we'll warn ya, we are not just interested in buying your product and selling it. No...we also want to get to know you. As in, tell me about yourself, be your Facebook friend, follow each other on Twitter, how are the kids, do an interview on our blog, how about those _enter fave team here_ kinda relationship.
What are we looking for? Any of all of they following: eco-friendly, fashion forward, women made/ran, recycled, affordable, option to drop ship, won't mind custom orders. We look forward to getting to know you!
