Part of our purpose is to give back to organizations that we believe in. Here are some organizations that we have given to in the past.
Hagar International: (Ongoing) Hagar International: The mission of Hagar is to foster hope for vulnerable women and children in crisis through holistic, transformational development and creative initiatives. Over the past 13 years, Hagar has served over 100,000 women and children in Cambodia, many of them victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking. Look for Hagar Design bags in our store!
Oxfam America: (July 08) "Food prices around the globe are spiraling out of control, and impoverished people - who were already spending 50 to 80 percent of their incomes on food, are now being forced to spend even more and aren't able to adequately feed themselves and their families. - Oxfam America. We couldn't look the other way.
The Not For Sale Campaing: (May 08) This was for their urgent call to act for the children who have been orphaned by the cyclone in Myanmar. "Today in Myanmar, 2.5 million people cling to survival after the disaster that hit two weeks ago. The latest state television update in former Burma has declared the death toll after the May 2nd cyclone to be 77,738 people. Another 55,917 are still reported missing. Thousands swarm the roadsides of a country void of the foreign aid it so desperately needs. Children, destitute and orphaned, are picked up by vicious traffickers prowling the disaster area." -NFS
AFESIP: (May 08) After the sale of a photograph in our store, the photographer chose to send the proceeds to AFESIP. AFESIP exists to combat trafficking in women and children for sex slavery; to care for and rehabilitate those rescued from sex slavery; to provide occupational skills and to reintegrate those rescued into the community in a sustainable and innovative manner. AFESIP also seeks to combat the causes and effects of trafficking and sex slavery through outreach work in AIDS prevention; through advocacy and campaigning; through representation and participation in women's issues at national, regional and international forums.
